ABOUT E

a little about me;

My name is Elizabeth but people call me E. I am a photographer based in Philadelphia PA, but I travel frequently across the United States and abroad. I have been photographing weddings for almost a decade.

I have been making photos since I was a kid. Photography was and continues to be my main source of self expression. Growing up in the Midwest, the camera always provided an escape for me, a way to dream of worlds beyond my own. At 18, I pursued a “practical” degree and studied international politics in Washington , D.C. The pursuit of those studies led me to live in Ecuador as well as the Czech Republic (where I met my husband, who is also an artist). While I enjoyed my studies, I kept coming back to photography. Through university, I began to build a portfolio of photojournalism and portraiture work.

After my degree, I taught photography to high school aged kids in France and then moved to Philadelphia where I continued educating young students about photography. My approach to photography is simple: observe, be playful, and stay curious.

I take that approach to your wedding day as well. It is my job to tell the story of your day beautifully and honestly. I use both film and digital cameras to shoot weddings. I view the camera as a tool to help craft the emotional narrative I want in the image. Often this is a film camera, as I am continuously drawn to the artistry of analog.

I view each wedding as a commission, as a collaborative creation. I only take on a certain amount each year so that I can fully commit my time and energy to each couple. If you would like to get in touch , you can head to the Contact portion of my site.

Thank you for being here.
